Club History

Over 105 Years of History

Scioto Country Club from its inception has always been an important part of the history of Upper Arlington and the city of Columbus.  Opening in 1916 as a centerpiece of Upper Arlington, the Club is the focal point of a community that is one of the finest in the country.  As James Hamill, one of the founding members stated at the Club’s opening, "Our Club, in time, will become one of the most important social centers of the community, and will constitute one of the show places of the city”.  Today it stands as a pillar of the Upper Arlington Community, an important gathering place for family and friends, and a treasured part of the history of central Ohio. Scioto has grown to include outstanding recreational facilities in addition to its warm clubhouse experience.   A Club that supports the community that surrounds it, Scioto is truly our members’ home away from home.

The Mission of the Club is embraced with every facet of the Club.
